Best Manhattan bars restaurants that you can USUSALLY walk in (can break down by categories or whatever)

Was in a discussion recently with a friend who visits often but never likes to plan anything. He told me I need to step up my game bc the last few times he has come here I haven't had much to show him

My answer was that there are plenty of good spots but without reservations even at many bars it's very difficult without reses
