Is having a pet, vegan friendly?

Now this will probably get downvoted and be controversial, as I know a lot of vegans have pets and it’s sometimes a part of the reason why people have a love and respect for animal welfare.

However this is just a question that I would like to hear your opinions on.

Reasons why it could be non-vegan friendly to own a pet:

-Animals such as Dogs and Cats are often bred specifically to sell on their offspring as pets, often. Just like how we feel bad about cows being separated from their calf’s, a mother dog would also feel very sad about her puppies being taken away.

-some would argue that to neuter the animal, but again that’s taking a basic sexual right away from the animal without their consent.

-certain animals, such as dogs, have a natural pack mentality and like to be social with many other dogs, but unless a person has a capacity to home dozens of dogs with plenty of open space, most will be lonely and we dont know the true impact on their long term mental health.

-shouldn’t we just let animals be left alone in the wild and stop domesticating them for our own companionship?
