77 days after launch of Worldcoin
*"If you're a poor person from a third world country, I have an incredible opportunity for you. You look into this orb so I can harvest immutable biometric data from your eye holes. In exchange, I give you some of this shiny cryptocurrency that some rich dudes in San Francisco created out of thin air with zero economic effort".*
It's called WorldCoin, co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, officially launched on July 24, 2023, and its goal is to scan a billion eyeballs over the next few years to create a global identity platform and payment network.
This project that raised over $115 million is backed by a bunch of VCs like Andreessen Horowitz and our beloved one and only Sam Bankman-Fried.
During its beta testing phase, Worldcoin attracted over 2 million users. The platform is expanding its iris scanning operations in numerous cities across 34 countries.
On the official website, they state that approximately 40,000 accounts have been created in the last 7 days.
If you successfully complete your scanning, you'll be awarded with 25 free Worldcoin tokens (WLD), each of which is currently valued at roughly $1.6, which is 66% increase from its all time low from September 13, 2023.

What are your thoughts on this project? Are we heading in the right direction, or is this project simply misguided or ill-intentioned?
