I've almost certainly already done more pushups this month (1000) than I have done the rest of my entire life leading up to this point combined. Crazy.

I mean it's probably true. Wasn't really doing push ups in grade school much other than presidential fitness tests occasionally. All the sports I played we never really did pushups as warm ups. And then once I got to be to large to do them period in around 8th grade or so I literally didn't do a single push up from like age 15 to earlier this year at 29 years old.

Doing 100 a day so far this month has been a fun little exercise challenge and I really feel that I am already seeing hypertrophy benefits from it in my triceps and chest. I normally do around 40 or so in the morning before work, another 30 to 40 in the afternoon after work and finish them off late shortly before bed. I usually can do about 18 to 20 on the first go through then about 12 to 15 the next set and then around 10 or so after that.

May seem like not a big deal to some, but it's always surreal and motivating every time I just do a single one because at my lowest (mentally not weight wise) I just figured I'd never be able to do a single proper push up ever in my life and it may seem dumb, but that made me feel really sad and weak and less of a man. It's extremely motivating and uplifting that I've been able to get my body into the shape it is now to be able to do things I never thought I could do.

The ultimate message to takeaway is please don't ever give up. You're never to far gone. There's always a chance to turn things around as long as their is breath in your lungs, there is reason to fight. You got this.
