TLDR: I accidentally won the most recent tournament, which gave me a purple gold pack, which gave me the last card I needed, which completed my album, which made me lose all my cards 😢😢

😖😖 IM SORRY!! 😖😖

🫣🫣 I hope you guys dont mind. This is a lengthy rant 🫣🫣

Winning a tournament is usually a cause for celebration... right? Even more so, if an entire album was completed 🤩🤩 But for the very first time... a personal tournament victory horrified me, and the subsequent set and album completion became a heart breaking moment 😵‍💫😵‍💫

I have had a nearly complete album for several days now, and i could have completed it anytime i wanted. With just 1 card left for completion, I had more than 4.5k stars at my vault, and i was feeling comfortable. However, I've held off completing my album, because i wanted to give my cards away... after all, there is no point turning the rarer cards into stars... that would be a huge waste 😮‍💨 So... it started with some family and friends, then to some of my trusted trade partners.

I started to play differently when i began handing out cards. 😊😊 I already had more than enough dice to last me a good while, and i could complete my album anytime, so getting cards to give out became my new motivation. Seeing my friends' excitement from completing their sets and winning dice excited me, especially those who have spent money on the game 🤩🤩 With a renewed fervour, I started competing in tournaments again, I participated in events, i tried to trade for the rarer cards... everything, for the sole purpose of giving out cards. After giving cards to family and friends, I still had a handful of four star dupes left, and a few five-stars, so i started handing out cards to strangers, which led to the "🤩DIRT CHEAP🤩 4-star stickers for 1 friggin star" trade post. The response was overwhelming 😊 (at least for me), and i really wanted it to continue for some time.

Little did i know, that this enthusiasm would be my eventual downfall 😵‍💫😵‍💫

Yesterday, i participated in a tournament, with a purple gold pack reward for first place. Usually, my top tournament opponents would score 40k points, 60k, 80k, even up to 100k or more. If i wanted to win, i really had to dish out the dice and points. Yes, i am one of the people who looks like a bot on the tournament rankings. 40k points is nothing. Not to sound arrogant, but this truly is, THE norm. This time however, I absolutely had no intention of competing, so i settled for 10k points, just to get the purple pack milestone reward.

Then this morning, upon checking up on MOGO, disaster struck... I WON THE TOURNAMENT 😱😱 I know its my fault for participating, but I'd like to give a shoutout to my tournament opponents yesterday... you guys suck 🥹🥹 Of all the times you've chosen to suck at a tournament... you chose that time. That damned time. The usual expectation of 40k-100k for the top tournament contenders has completely betrayed me. How the hell can you guys let a person with JUST 10k points win the whole friggin tournament, with a purple gold pack as a prize!?!?!? 🥹🥹

Oh no, a purple gold pack... 😖😖... No need to panic though, i'll definitely get a dupe, like usual. I cant believe i'm actually hoping for a dupe... so here goes... 😖😖 BAM!! I was suddenly blessed with the SCOPELY devil's luck... and the worst outcome possible: I got the gold card from the acalica set... which was the last card i needed 😱😱 truly, an unmitigated disaster 🤮🤮

Confetti started flying around. Set completed... then abum completed... then the grim realization struck me: I just lost all my cards... 😱😱 all the cards i wanted to give out, gone in an instant. A huge and terrible waste. As he stared into my eyes, Mr. Monopoly's celebratory dance became a mockery of my seemingly preposterous and unprofitable intentions... :

"😈😈 how dare you try to give people free cards... *poof* THERE! Your last card, album completed, and no more giving out cards for you!! 😈😈"

And that... is the story of the most heartbreaking album completion and tournament victory ☹️☹️

Perhaps the lesson in all of this... is to not give "luck," AKA Scopely, an opening. My momentary lapse in judgement lead to this unexpected outcome. I should have never participated in that tournament. I know nothing is stopping me from giving cards out right from the get go, but its different when you're doing it when you yourself are secured.

I hope this doesnt come across as being ungrateful, whiny, or insensitive. Yes, i know people are working hard to complete their albums... how dare I complain about mine, which I just completed. Yes, im kinda glad that i completed my album, but the cards i lost was a HUGE waste, . The point im trying to make is... i could have given out so much more 😓😓

And no, this is not a tirade for those who chose to complete their albums and not share anything. That is absolutely fine, nothing wrong with that, you do you. But for me, personally, the satisfaction lies in playing together with people, and seeing each other succeed in the game 😐😐

To those who are still waiting for cards in my other thread (the 🤩DIRT CHEAP🤩 thread), you have my deepest and sincerest apologies 🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️ Alas, i am no longer in a position to trade out cards for 🤩DIRT CHEAP🤩. I no longer have cards in my album. Zero. Nada. The "🤩DIRT CHEAP🤩 4-star cards for 1 friggin star" will be on a temporary hiatus. But rest assured, i will claw my way back up, and hopefully, with luck... do it all again 😁😁

😖😖 The most heartbreaking album completion... 😖😖
