i just noticed the default is no longer thin to provision vmdk or new vm, is set to thick eager zero ,

i recall this being thin on 6.7 or older version of 7.0 did this change? and how to i change the default policy,

i tried to create a vm storage policy however this is geared toward vsan and or tag placmentent.

any help apricated.

also deploying a brand new nested vsphere 8 the default is thick eager zero for vmfs

says " Virtual disks created on NFS datastores are thin-provisioned by default ' which is wrong

Change the Default Storage Policy for a Datastore

https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.storage.doc/GUID-A5B23ECF-EE2A-4180-9C21-3F05BCA86EE0.html

is for VSAN there is no option on the NFS datastore

Default Storage Policies

VMFS and NFS datastores do not have specific default policies and can use the generic default policy or a custom policy you define for them.
https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.storage.doc/GUID-6FB6DD3E-74A4-4784-9321-A1EA1269A671.html

this one you cannot create a policy which includes THIN and even so its not the default as you cannot change it on NFS.
