OneOdio A70 not charging

Open | Hardware

What it says on the tin. Issue has been present for around 5 days. Is still capable of connecting and playing audio, but battery is only getting lower, and the charging light never comes on. Have tried multiple cords and power bricks, so it’s definitely the headphones themselves.

The most likely cause is unfortunately easy to see- the micro USB port has one of its contacts (the rightmost one when the flat side is down), about half missing. While I can access the internals pretty easily, I don’t have a soldering iron, let alone one precise enough to swap out the chip.

Given that information, how likely is it that only the port is at fault? It has a headphone jack and stereo jack port as well, and according to online sources can wirelessly charge. Is it worth it to invest in a wireless charger for a 4 year old device? I know the other jacks can’t supply much power, but could they at least extend my current battery?
