He (23m) can’t get over my (22f) past

Basically I’ve been talking to this dude for a while and it’s been going extremely well. We are on the same page about almost virtually everything major and compliment eachother amazing personality wise

Now the issue. He get upse t that I’ve done stuff with people in the past. We had a conversation about something intimate I’ve done in the pastand it made him upset because we never did that. We were taking on the phone and I could tell the mood changed. It eventually got the the point where he said he was going to go because of how uncomfortable it became. I was so feed up and just said “sorry I’m such a slut” and hung up. He called back and I ignored him

I messaged him hours later saying that if doesn’t like my past he doesn’t have to be with me and have yet to get a reply.

Is this kinda a dumb argument. I know he can’t help how he feels but I feel like I’m getting shamed for shit I did before and I’m getting punished for shit I did before we even met

Is this common and how can we over come this? I really like him but I don’t know what to do
