The King of Hearts
Charming, bold, and kind.
The traits of a leader,
Embodiment of the King.
He's strong as a cedar.
As a sweet young boy,
He planted his first rose.
Seeing the love it brings,
He fails to repose.
Though petals bring beauty,
It's thorns are the essence.
The King paints a smile,
Hiding pain since adolescence.
He is educated.
With the heart of Venus,
Daring as Icarus,
He falls to love's madness.
After every heartbreak,
A rose withers and dies.
The thorny crown cuts deep,
He's still, but his soul cries.
The King knows betrayal,
Like the Devil's last kiss.
But he's an addict to love,
Euphoria, and bliss.
When the high fades away,
He shivers in despair.
Eyes sunken like wrecked ships,
The King forgets to care.
His people don't notice,
For all they see is red.
Warm, loving, and tender,
The King hangs by thread.
