Signing...

I went to the Lovejoy DC concert in June, and it was a blast. I loved it, a lot. But, I had most people in line, and I think it was Mark and Ash sign a hoodie that I had. I also got my rammie plush, and I was sorta maybe known for that, but back onto topic:

Is it bad to have the people in line sign objects or peices of clothing? I noticed that people where a bit uncomfortable with it, but I did respect their decisions. I didn't ask or anything but now I'm curious thinking back on it. Is it something I shouldn't be doing, but rather have people sign objects such as flags, or not sign anything at all?
