Hi all!
I've recently had the opportunity to raise a leopard gecko since my nephew decided he didn't want her anymore. Long story short I've had my girl Sheila for about 4 months now. She was originally very skittish and mostly sat in her den, which I expected from the research I did. I gave her her own space and slowly she began to accumulate to her new home.

Fast forward to know, it feels like she cross a social hurdle as on top of her open exploring her enclosure consistently, she finally began hand feeding too! I love watching her eat and just generally look happy; I've always grown up with dogs (and currently have one), but I never expected this sort of bonding and comfort with a reptile.

I was just curious if anyone had tips to accumulating to touch/being held after this step?
I've been doing practices that I watched online called "choice based holding" basically where one leaves their hand in the enclosure (avoiding coming from above the gecko) as an open invitation for then to be held by it if they choose. I just am not sure what else I can try as she seems largely uninterested and always walks away.

I don't really like pushing her limits (definitely a slight fear of her losing her tail, I'd just feel too bad lol), but at the same time I would enjoy being able to hold or interact with her more. Hoping the people on this sub could help, I've learned a lot already.

Finally hand feeding, but how to move forward?
