Should I do this?

So, I've created these two characters, and I have an idea about what to do with them, I'm just wondering if it's a good idea.

I'm gonna give you an idea of their characters first.

So, Meg is a princess (no surprise there). She is not the MC. She's a Cersei Lannister kind of character (take out the insanity, drunkenness, incest). She's a highly intelligent character, she's manipulative, and she likes to be in control of every situation. She has to be the dominant person all the time, even if people don't know it.

Shade is the ward (sometimes rumored to be the bastard son of the king, but it's not true). He's a lot like Meg, but not exactly. He knows that as a general, he needs people to respect him and his opinions. He also knows that as the King's ward, he needs to keep the royal family safe as well.

Okay, so on to my idea. I kind of wanted them to be in a purely physical relationship at the beginning of the book. And there are reasons why, the biggest one being that it allows character development.

Their relationship would be toxic. Really, an overall bad choice. For starters, they both have dominant personalities.

Meg has all of these expectations that the MC (who is also a woman) isn't pressured by. The MC is able to fight, and do everything a man can and more. While Meg is expected to be a loyal daughter, fortify an alliance through marriage, and have lots of children. So, for her to be in this relationship is a kind of release for that. Meg wants to be powerful, she sees her gender as a weapon, and this relationship allows her to practice that. Also, Shade is a general, he has information that Meg can use to her advantage, I mean, really all she'd have to do is ask, it's not like they're sleeping together for this one purpose.

For Shade, it's a different kind of release. Shade has a lot on his plate all the time. He has to hide his magic or he'd be executed, he has to keep people loyal. So, this relationship allows him to escape from reality, and release his pent-up frustration and his stress. He's also fully aware that he can dominate the situation if he wants to but ultimately chooses to not.

The relationship ends when the MC appears (not for reasons you'd think). It's a mutual end. Shade needs to keep an eye on the MC because he knows that not everything is what it seems with her and he can't afford to be distracted.

Anyway, should I do it? I want to, but I want to know if it's a good idea before I do it.
