Killer Croc

These are my two origin stories for Killer Croc within Matt Reeves' Universe. I thought about this for a while for it to fit the dark realistic take.

Waylon Jones was a former Navy Seal who was very high ranking. His unit was then assigned with a special task to recover chemicals from a facility somewhere off the coast of Mexico. When performing this operation things went wrong and an explosion went off, this caused the chemicals within the facility to spread all over and unfortunately Waylon Jones was hit by them.

Most of his unit died in the explosion but Waylon was transported to a Hospital to be treated for chemical burns. He stayed there for multiple months and during that time his wife came to visit him and couldn't bear to look at him, thinking that he was no longer the same man she Divorced him while in the hospital. Because of his injuries Waylon was also Discharged from his role in the Navy.

After many months in the hospital he was finally released, but his body still was scarred from all of the burns and the patterns resembled scales. This scaly pattern was the result of the grate platform Waylon was standing on when the explosion occurred. Now released Waylon began to look for a job to continue living, however due to his freakish appearance and messed up vocal chords no place would hire him. It was then that he turned to a life of crime, committing small robberies here and there, just enough to get by.

But when The Riddler destroyed Gothams Levees and flooded the city, Waylon saw an opportunity. Using his expertise as a former navy seal he gathered equipment to help him traverse the new waters of Gotham. He began taking jobs from higher ranking criminals and became an assassin for hire as well, as he was used to taking a life if needed. These led to him being given a nickname within the Criminal Underworld. Killer Croc. Waylon did not enjoy taking these lives however, he made enough money to ensure his own safety and then killed his employers. Using this he took their spot and became a well known Criminal throughout all of Gotham. And even though his wife Divorced him the sole reason he kept committing these atrocious acts was to provide for his 6 year old daughter.

#2- Waylon Jones was a navy seal who was sent with his unit on a special operation however things went wrong. His unit was ambushed and they were taking as prisoners. While being held in a prisoner camp they were tortured starved and kept thirsty. This torture went on for months and months and Waylon Jones became nearly a skeleton. His mental state became extremely unstable and tensions with his unit were rising constantly. As things progressed they eventually got I to a fight with eachother and Waylon killed his unit members. He mourned the deaths of his friends but eventually realized that he was gonna starve to death in the camp, looking at his friends bodies he decided to make the hard choice and he began eating them. He was kept in this camp so long that he managed to eat all of their bodies and by the time he was rescued he developed a taste for human meat. He struggled with the want for years but due to multiple ptsd attacks he eventually killed another person and ate them as well. This continued and his scaly appearance was a result of the torture he endured.
