Support for the younger ones.
Uk. My small is about to turn 10. Earlier this year they asked if they could change their pronouns from she/her to they/them. We had a chat about their reasonings. I said I had no issues with it and we would start in the house and spread out once they were sure and they were happy with this.
July right at the end of the school year. I had another mum tell me my small had asked theirs to start referring to them using their chosen pronouns. Fair play to them. I knew they were ready to start letting people know. Everyone they have told has been supportive. Except their dad, we are separated and he doesn't see them often.
I am so proud of them and the decision they are already making in life.
Anyway. August they started biting themselves until they bleed. The school year started and every morning they have belly pains and cry about going in. They have started closing their bedroom door and distancing themselves from me. I spoke to the GP and am waiting a referral for Cahms and Arthur Ellis. All the charities and support I can find are for 13+
Does anyone have any advise or a new direction for me to try?
