Leave cat for a week (or more) or take her with me?

My father is ill in the hospital in another state and I want to be close to support. My mother suggested bringing my cat up with me.

For context, my cat is 11 years old and has severe separation anxiety (she is medicated for it). In June we moved to a new house, and in August my partner of 12 years and I separated. They left and took 2 other cats with them. So lots of changes have happened in the past few months and my cat's separation anxiety has ramped up because of it.

I was thinking of leaving for a week or 2 and have someone come twice a day to feed her etc. I'm just worried that without me, her anxiety will be very high. But if she comes with me, she's in a strange place and will be confined to a room. However, ill be there to comfort her most of the day and night (I work from home so I can be anywhere)..

Which would be better for her?
