[2934] What Once Was

Hey y'all!

Click here for the opening chapter of a fantasy romance novel I've been working on for a few months entitled What Once Was. I'll take any and all feedback you guys can offer, but I'm specifically interested in:

• Characterization - What do you think of Tyzal, Renat, and Vastla? Do you have enough information to form an opinion?
• Setting/Worldbuilding - Too much? Not enough? Is it too infodump-y? Are the various terms/titles (Warden, Sachem, thauma, etc) confusing?
• Dialogue - Do you know who's talking? Readers of other projects have called this out as a main struggle of mine.
• Hook - Would this first chapter interest you enough to read further?

But really, give me all you've got. I haven't shared any part of this project before, so I'm interested to hear everyone's first impressions.
