Tekken 8 theory: Victor is related to Dragunov and will play a role in his story

Fluff

My evidence is as follows:

  1. Dragunov has a move called Victor Clutch. This is just transliterated in the Japanese version, but is unmistakably a name. The technique is a CQC takedown, which Victor supposedly does.

  2. Dragunov has in recent storylines fought Raven and Master Raven. Both of which work for the UN as secret agents. The leaks say Victor is a French UN agent.

  3. Dragunov doesn't really have a well developed storyline, so it makes sense they'd introduce a new rivalry and ally to Raven.

All totally based on leak info but I think it could be credible. My personal out-there theory is he's intended as a Marduk replacement, as Harada likes Marduk but acknowledges he isn't popular, similar to how Azucena is kind of a Lucky Chloe replacement. I reckon Victor might have been some sort of mentor to Dragunov and he's trying to find him again.

What do you think 🤔

Correct me if I'm wrong, but for one, someone else already said Victor Clutch is a real life name for a technique, but also... if not translated otherwise, I'd guess Victor Clutch refers to a grab done to win a fight, or a clutch by the victor, the winner (as in victory).

Unless of course the technique was invented by some dude named Viktor/Victor.

Yeah, they were absolutely right about that. But who knows, maybe that's why they called him Victor? As a reference?
