Performance and Battery Problems After Repair
Hi All,
I had my 2017 MacBook Pro with touchbar and 8GB of RAM repaired by Apple in January 2021. This was toward the end of my AppleCare+ coverage. The computer had dents in the case that prevented it from completely closing, and allowed dust to get in. Other than that, there were no issues. The logic board, display assembly, and top case with battery were replaced. A few weeks after the repair, I noticed my computer was having performance issues. It often ran hot when I had multiple YouTube tabs open, the battery life became much shorter, and while the Touch Bar still displayed relevant info, it became completely unresponsive. I have updated the computer since, but still the same issues. My warranty had run out, and this was during the heart of the pandemic, so I didn’t get around to taking it back to the Apple Store. I rarely used my laptop, so, the issues were not major at the time. I am not taking a computer science course, and need to make full use of the specs my Mac is rated for. I’m not able to do that currently. What could be causing the issues I’m having? Is there any chance of Apple correcting whatever happened?
