Staying at Royal Sonesta in a couple weeks.

I didn't read the FAQ

Hi, My wife and I are visiting for the first time for a weekend. I used my AA points for the Royal Sonesta and have a deluxe King. We are in our 50s but are coming to party and have fun, and see the sights. I probably would not have booked right on Bourbon Street but with the miles I got it for basically free. We are musicians and love live music. We gravitate towards hippie jam band type stuff, but like it all. What are some tips and must do/see/eat, etc.off the beaten path type stuff. Good less touristy restaurants bars etc. We grew up in a tourist towns so we know the restaurant hospitality industry well, and yes we know we are in the touristy part. We are not renting a car so what's walkable, uber, street car etc. What's good?
