F1 not struggling with medicine but admin side to job
Odd one really. Joining as an F1 I don’t tend to struggle with the medicine side of things, in fact I love on calls especially nights because I feel like I have some autonomy to independently assess someone and come to a differential and manage it. Knowledge/medicine wise I’m not really struggling because I think I sweated out med school too much.
What gets to me is the admin side of the job. I find that the day job in f1 in medicine is really fucking mundane and consists of a shit ton of admin some of which requiring you to call 3 different people to get one job done. I truly suck so much at the admin side, and I think the ward team views me as incompetent because of this. However, my feedback in on calls is completely different and the med regs I’ve worked with say I’ve got the knowledge of someone in f2/IMT1.
Not really sure what to do because the more I try not be a dumbass with the admin side, I always manage to fuck one small thing up everyday (e.g discharge date wrong on TTO)
