Why has techno become so quiet nowadays

I'm noticing that techno has gotten a lot quieter than 4 years ago.

It used to go up to 11. Now when I look in the DJ booth it never goes above 10

Does anybody have any ideas why this is happening? What exactly happened in recent years to spark this trend of really quiet tunes?
