A few days ago I would up not knowing that not only the world but my life was going to change forever. The news broke that an asteroid was a direct course for earth and there was nothing that could be done to divert its path. The world governments and scientists were pretty sure that they could use the nuclear weapons to break it apart enough to keep it from completely destroying the atmosphere. The only down side is that it would most likely wipe out all surface life for years. The question was how do we save humanity.

The government had answers, they had been building a variety of different bunkers in their countries and were selecting people to help fill them to hopefully survive until the surface was able to support life again. Of course there was much anger as of course some of the rich and powerful were able to secure spots. The news that changed my world was a call that came from my estranged father a man I had barely spoken to when he left me and my mother's lives 15 years ago, and I hadn't been on speaking terms since my mom passed away 10 years ago. He was a politician that had done well for himself but it had allowed him to have many affairs. Well due to his position he was allowed a spot in one of the bunkers, and of course he was the rotten bastard. The shock was when he told me that he had stage 4 cancer and probably wouldn't even survive to the impacts. With this however he was able to secure a spot for me, the one last attempt to try to make up for what he had done. He knew I would never forgive him.

It was the second piece of information he gave me that wasn't announced to the public yet. The bunkers were limited in space and supplies so to support repopulation efforts in the future only one man was going to be allowed in each bunker. Multiple women were also going to be allowed into each bunker and it was up to the men to select who they would be living with. He had given me the power to help decide who would survive and create future generations.

The information was going to be soon announced and I could start a selection process in however I felt fit to select who would join me in the bunker. There was a minimum and maximum amount of people I was allowed to select. The government was going to set up a site so I could set up a way for applicants to get in contact with me and the other male bunker participants.
