thinking of leaving the industry

Advice Needed: Replies from Nannies Only

hi! i have made a few posts on here regarding my current nannying position. i have been a nanny on and off for 7 years. my previous nanny positions haven’t worked out for various reasons. i have been w/ my current NF since august. i like them, they are very nice but i’ve had a few problems with them. the first is the mom constantly pays me late, and i feel this is really disrespectful. i even send her payment requests but i still get paid late sometimes! this is really annoying and it’s so awkward bringing up pay with your employer. also, their baby is really difficult sometimes, can be very colicky and is a terrible sleeper. i made a post a few days ago but essentially she doesn’t sleep through the night at all, maybe only 3-4 hours a night total. her naps have been so difficult lately, she’s constantly waking up and having to be put down and the cycle continues. this cuts into my break time which is very limited as it is. the parents don’t believe in CIO either. the last issue is i am constantly coming into work and the kids are sick. this has happened three or four times since i’ve been w them in august. NK (4) had a runny nose on monday, and sounded congested. i brought it up to MB monday night and she said “i noticed that yesterday” - like why didn’t you bring that up to me? NK (1) now has it… a runny nose, sneezing, is obviously not feeling good but the mom says she’s just “teething”. i just feel like the lack of communication, the stress and anxiety this job is giving me is not worth it. i’m also in the process of getting diagnosed w/ an autoimmune condition and i’m concerned working with kids so much is going to bring more flares. i’m trying to get a job in my field but it’s been so difficult and i guess i’m just not sure what to do right now. anyone else feel a similar way?
