Career Pathway Advice

Hi,

I am currently an LLM student of International Law, but I have not completed an LLB or PGDL, instead completing my undergrad in psychology. I have been on the lookout for grad schemes in relevant fields but am struggling and I'm not really sure what I should try and do. I originally applied for this degree to pursue a career in Diplomacy or Consultation, as the course implicates a lot of pertinent fields of law, and I felt that keeping my areas of knowledge broad would help open more doors for me. I'm not sure if I am just being defeatist after 2 or 3 grad scheme rejections from listings relating to sustainability, environmental and energy law, or if I am simply under-qualified for these positions, despite being a masters student, but it seems that while there are more doors available, I just cant get a foot in the door with any of them?

I'm unsure if I'm interpreting certain listings incorrectly, but it seems like some firms offer training contracts that include funding through a PGDL? If this is the case is this something worth looking into, or what sort of avenues into legal practice would my time be better spent looking into, if I am really unable to pursue the careers I find myself drawn towards.

Overall though, I am just looking for advice on what I can do, as I feel as if I have shot myself in the foot by going for this masters over something more specialised or if I would have been better off staying in my lane, despite the fact I really dislike Psychology. Can I go for these consultation jobs with the qualifications I have and if not, what sort of extracurricular activity could I maybe do to improve my candidacy for these positions? If someone could please just give a bit of advice, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
