G15 2021 users on BIOS 416: What does powercfg /a report for you in CMD? Still can't get mine to sleep!

In this post, "sleep" refers to actual proper laptop sleep, where the CPU LED light is off, and the power LED light is pulsing, and the fans are off, laptop is not generating any heat.

The only time I have been able to sleep my Asus Zephyrus G15 2021 GA503-QM UK was when it was in BIOS 403 iirc, when I had just bought the laptop.

No BIOS version after that has ever let my G15 sleep. Even 416.

I tried it under so many conditions:

  • Plugged/unplugged into barrel connector/USB-C PD
  • With Armoury Crate, MyAsus services installed and up-to-date, or with all those wiped and G-Helper installed (this is what I'm currently using, on BIOS 416)
  • With silent/balanced/turbo/fans+power plans
  • With CPU 4GHz boost enabled/disabled in that power options dialog
  • With absolutely no programs running at all on my system, nothing in the tray area either
  • Unplugging ALL external devices
  • Watching the laptop for up to 5 minutes without touching it after hitting sleep (I heard reports that it takes a while sometimes)
  • Checking all devices in Device Manager, that the "Power Management" tab is set correctly to not wake up device / to allow computer to sleep
  • Disabling Bluetooth, Wifi, all external connectivity
  • Disabling WiFi in device manager because this
  • Checking powercfg /requests - its always None on all, even if i have all my apps and tray shit running

It's worth nothing that I have a 32GB stick in the place of the 8GB one, and also have a secondary NVMe SSD installed (Crucial P3 3.0 PCIe 4TB)

So, I would like to ask users on BIOS 416 who have managed to get their G15's to sleep:

  1. Were there any special steps you took before, during, or after sleep was entered (e.g., turning off Bluetooth, waiting a certain amount of time)

  2. What is the output when you run this command in administrator command prompt? powercfg /a.

Any other suggestions also welcome.

Here is my output for powercfg /a:

The following sleep states are available on this system:
Standby (S0 Low Power Idle) Network Connected

The following sleep states are not available on this system:
    Standby (S1)
The system firmware does not support this standby state.
This standby state is disabled when S0 low power idle is supported.

    Standby (S2)
The system firmware does not support this standby state.
This standby state is disabled when S0 low power idle is supported.

    Standby (S3)
The system firmware does not support this standby state.
This standby state is disabled when S0 low power idle is supported.

    Hibernate
        Hibernation has not been enabled.

    Hybrid Sleep
        Standby (S3) is not available.
        Hibernation is not available.
The hypervisor does not support this standby state.

    Fast Startup
        Hibernation is not available.

As you can see I don't have S3 still. Also note, I really don't want to try the posts suggesting to install different drivers, or force enable S3 through registry - I've seen very scary reports of instability/windows corruption being caused by that, and that those things are deliberately disabled as they aren't truly supported by the hardware, etc. This laptop is my lifeblood and is powering my degree right now, I cannot afford any downtime.

Thanks.
