My dishwasher element melted part of my tub, but no holes yet. What can i do to prevent further damage?

It's frigidaire dishwasher and is held in place with two support but on the opposite end the element started touching the bottom of the tub and caused it to melt. it's not melted entirely, luckily no hole. What can do to prevent this from getting worse.
i tried lifting it slightly but i am afraid i will break the element
