New Utah feature to Auto-populate Catalog Item Variable doesn't allow making Variable Read only

So I have some variables I made in my Record Producer and have the Auto-populate configured. It Auto-populates just fine as if I was using GlideAJax. Only issue it I can't make that variable Read only no matter what I do. I checked Read only in the Variable form, I created a UI Policy, and I created an onLoad Catalog Client Script(all 3 not done at the same time obviously). Still won't make it Read only in the Portal or the try it from Record Producer form button. Anyone have experience with this?
