I'm 30 y/o and looking to attend college for the first time, but feel overwhelmed. Are there college counselors that have experience for people like me?

Advice

I've been comfortable working in a field where, thankfully, no one ever asks where I went to college. But I've been entertaining the idea of a major life shift and exploring a career in law. This would be a big, big change and a long journey, but I don't think it's too late for me to start.

However, I feel like I could really benefit from some guidance and counseling, as I don't really know what kind of institution or pathway would make the most sense for me. Online or night school while I continue working and supporting myself? What kind of financial aid would be available to me? What are different ways my life could look as I work towards a degree, and what are the pros and cons?

I don't know if I need to talk to a college counselor per se, although I could probably afford a few sessions with a low-to-mid range fee. But since the college counseling industry seems focused on getting a head start, I'm hoping I can speak with someone who's a late-riser like me.
