No Strings Attached Conspiracy Theory- I Thought She Knew

Prefacing with I have ZERO evidence for this, only speculation and about 20+ years time to think between releases.

We know they had a bunch of songs that weren't on NSA because of the Transcon lawsuit, and we know the release date was pushed back a week to allow for one additional song to be recorded (Just Got Paid). Did the need to fill space on the album to meet an already delayed release date allow for I Thought She Knew to be recorded?

It's the first song they sang together, and one that they all know how to sing in their sleep. Could we have the album version simply because they needed another track fast? To be clear, I'm very not mad at this, just curious if it was always meant to be on the album or simply a happy accident.
