Applying to the same school twice with the same commonapp essay?

So, life happened, and I ended up not going to college (and am on a gap year currently) after graduating. The thing is, I applied to a school and got waitlisted last app cycle and want to apply again. I understand not submitting the same supplement (because if I got waitlisted it means I should change something, lol), but is it okay to submit the same commonapp essay?

I know its "outdated" since I wrote it a year ago, but I really like that essay and even though a year has passed since last application cycle I can't see myself writing somethign that could top it because its a good representation of me and my character.

Will this look bad?
