What is the earliest we could see a new Nintendo film?

Original Analysis

There is a lot of cynicism around the box office right now, and especially around the Super Hero genre. A lot has been asked about whether or not Video Game adaptations are the new Comic Book adaptations, but at the very least, I think we can say video games are hot right now, and we're likely to see more on the way.

I think it's pretty obvious that Nintendo films are going to be the MCU of a new wave of video game films, being the prestige brand with event releases (this does NOT MEAN it will be as big as the MCU by any means). It won't be a big shared universe like the MCU, but sequels to the Mario movie and projects around Zelda and other franchises will be coming, and they will be big.

I imagine, with the writer's strike over, new projects are well into preproduction already, and a lot of groundwork can be laid before voice acting is needed. So it stands to reason that the pipeline is being created as we speak. The only question is, how long will it take? Mario I'm guessing will get its sequel in 2025 or 2026, but there have also been rumors of a Donkey Kong film already in development alongside the first Mario movie. If that's the case, we could see it as early as next year.
