Nagano Monkey Park

Hey everyone, Im planning a day trip from Tokyo to Nagano sometime next week. Main objective is to visit the monkey park. Im only traveling with a pair of sneakers. Are hiking boots required? Any other tips that I need to know before heading there? TIA!
