Theory: What follows egghead

One Piece Theory :OP:

I think Luffy is gonna get captured by the Blackbeard pirates at the end of egghead arc.

As we all know, Oda loves drawing parallels between pre and post timeskip One Piece, and Egghead is the obvious counterpart to Sabody, with the reintroduction of characters like Sentomaru, Kizaru, and Kuma.

With egghead closely paralleling Sabody, I think it's fair to say that the straw hats are going to be defeated by the world government in the climax of the arc. With that being said, I actually believe the straw hats are going to defeat the world government, but get blind-sided by Blackbeard, who's ship we saw outside egghead not long ago.

Now that raises the question. what would Blackbeard want with Luffy? I think the answer is the most obvious one... his devil fruit.

In this scenario, Luffy is taken back to Hachinosu and reunited with Garp in prison (which would be a pretty funny/awesome encounter). The other straw hats then make their way to Elbaf in order to regroup, and come up with a plan to save their captain.

While on Elbaf, Robin gets an opportunity to read the books Saul saved from Ohara, and it shines light on who exactly Joy Boy is, and also explains at least somewhat his relation to Luffy.

The Straw hats then make their way towards Hachinosu with their newfound knowledge in an attempt to save Luffy, but to their surprise, the marines have already arrived and started a seige in an attempt to save Garp. This ultimately kicks off a major battle between the Blackbeard Pirates, the Straw Hats and the Marines.

The reason I ultimately came up with the idea that Luffy will get captured, is because I think his escape would be incredibly symbolic considering what Nika represents. Luffy is a character that revolves around the idea of absolute freedom, and him attempting to recapture that freedom would be really good and meaningful writing... Also lets be honest, Luffy always loses to the villian before ultimately defeating them.
