Translations of Schiller?
Hi there. First off, not sure if this is the BEST sub-reddit for this question (so please let me know if you know a better place).
Recently, I've become very interested in Schiller, not merely in terms of literature, but as a genuine philosopher and theoretician. I would love to start with some of his more famous works, mainly his plays and other aesthetic works, but I would also be very interested in his philosophical writings, especially Grace and Dignity as well as The Aesthetic Education of Man.
However, I'm having a bit of trouble finding much information on the quality of various translations. As far as I can tell, the Schiller Institute is the only source of a large-scale English translation of his works. However, for those who know... the Schiller Institute is of... dubious integrity? I'm not sure what to think of them. In any case, I'd love to get a gut check on their quality.
Thanks for any thoughts or comments!
