Convertible Debentures - Valuation

Taxes

I'm finding very little guidance online regarding how Convertible Debentures are valuated from the CRA.

The Convertible Debentures I'm referring to are for a publicly traded company which generates interest revenue for the creditor and can be converted into equity in the form of publicly traded company shares at a pre-defined price. The convertible debentures themselves are not listed.

For example, I hold a $1,000 debenture of Company ABC, bearing 12% interest and has a conversion price of $0.50 per share of Company ABC on a public exchange. Now if this debenture was sitting in an unregistered account and I wish to transfer it into a TFSA account (assume I have the contribution space), what is the value of that debenture at the time of transfer if the share price of Company ABC was trading at $0.20 per share?
