Both hands numb

It’s been this way for 2 weeks. The story of how it got started is long and I can’t type much because my hands get stiff but doc thinks it may be carpal tunnel. Nothing is helping the numbness. I need relief. Anything I can do? Exercises etc plz I’m miserable and doing things with my hands is hard
