Help! Struggling high schooler needs a good program
So my son in 16, a sophomore in public highschool. I would say he's an average student with tendencies to not want to apply himself. He has dealt with several issues this year: struggling with depression and anxiety badly and about a month ago he was attacked at school. He suffered a minor concussion that he's still getting headaches and issues with focus from unfortunately.
When the attack happened he was really stressed about going back to school. Videos of it had been posted all over social media and he said kids were making fun of him, etc. We talked to his therapist and decided it would be best to switch him to online public school. Unfortunately this started him behind in classes, as try had already started and he had to start over at the beginning.
Between the concussion symptoms, not being a self driven learner and getting hung up sometimes on the material, he's just continuing to fall further behind. They've extended deadlines for him, but it's to the point that I don't think he'll be able to complete this semester. It's so hard, I work during the day and can't be there to help him or make sure he's staying on track and he's getting discouraged to the point that he doesn't want to finish school.
I've begun research into online self paced high school programs, and I was wondering if there are ones that anyone would suggest, or have had experience with? Looking for something accredited, self paced, and the more resources it offers the better. Thanks to everyone for your help in advance!
