Hysterectomy and Oophorectomy Recovery Time?

Hello! I finally have scheduled my surgery! It's for January 19 and the dog is being dog sat for a week since he loves to jump and cuddle. I am 40 years old and have been dealing with SI associated with PMDD for years. I realized that multiple SSNRIs were just keeping SI at bay not not doing much else plus my mother died of ovarian CA when I was seven. So it is a super easy choice. I am trying to figure out how much time to take off work. I have a desk job and I am pretty sedentary and overweight (thanks PCOS). My GYN is giving me 6-8 weeks off but I want to make an accurate choice for myself in driving and household stuff and going back to work. What have people's recovery times been post-hysterectomy?
