Laptop suggestions for 3rd year

Hi all,

I was successful in receiving a bursary to support my studies for my final year and one of the reasons I applied was to help get a laptop for my studies, I'm not a laptop user, I had one for work and that's it, more of a PC (gamer) person so no clue around laptops.

What are some relatively good laptops for general uni applications (excel, word, spss) that can also function for just streaming shows or something too? Not a Chromebook though!

Thanks :D
