PS2 games will not launch from Front End, Will Launch from PCSX2

Like the title says, got a weird bug or maybe a config issue I was hoping someone could help me with.

I was able to run a few games from the front-end then during gameplay it kicked me back out to the menu.

Now whenever I try to select a PS2 game it will try to start then kick me back to the menu, no error message or anything (is there anywhere I can see logs?)

Things I've checked:

- Scan for all missing bios (none missing)

- Run PS2 from PCSX2 the app itself from F1 explorer - works (but I lose auto bindings and front-end goodness)

- All advanced system config for ps2 is at default or AUTO

If I change the emulator to Play, or even 'Libretro PCSX2' the games run from the front-end, however with Libretro PCSX2 I lose the ability to see a menu using the ESC key and I seem to also lose the custom graphics config (2x res) set in PCSX2.

PCSX2 was also set to "set all default" and still it won't run from the front-end. It has bioses listed for both PAL and USA regions with no md5 issues.

Anything else I can try?
