Why do I see many fit men date chubby women, but not the other way around?

as much as there is online talk about men supposedly refusing to date fat women in real life however this probably has to be the second most common pairing -- fit/normal weight guy with a chubby woman. I either see those wallmart couples where both them are overweight, but the second most common sight is a normal weight guy with a chubby woman. A fit girl with a chubby guy is a rare sight no matter where I go.

Is there any explanation for this phenomena, considering both genders tend to be overweight on average?
