Knee problems
I am 24M with a history of knee issues. (Torn meniscus, torn patella tendon, sprained ligaments) all from playing basketball. I recently started playing QB for a flag football team and I injured my knee. Nothing like I’ve felt before. I did my three step drop, and on my third step while I was transitioning body weight to throw something popped in my right knee. I am right handed so it was the back foot. My knee got super swollen and it hurt to bend completely but other than that there is no pain and I can walk around and live a normal life. After around 10 days the swelling was gone so I bought a nice knee brace and started playing again. All was fine until a few weeks later on the exact same motion (step 3 in the drop back as I am transitioning to throw) it popped again. This time the pain was worse, but similar results. ~10 days of swelling then I am fine. The pain in the back outer side of my knee. Is this something to worry about? Should I spend the money for an MRI or should I just take it easy for longer than 10 days?
