Arrived day before yesterday. I finally snagged a Zelos before they sold out, and I am very impressed with the quality and finish for this price point. Although at first glance the watch is quite classic in appearance, it has some interesting angularity and facets to the case that give it a more modern appearance in person. The case is very well finished, with coarse directional brushing on the lugs that adds a really cool machined look. The signed crown 'z' logo is perfectly aligned when the crown is screwed down, something even my Oris didn't get just right. The meteorite dial is very striking, and as a geologist, I had to have at least one in my collection. I'm not a big fan of the faux patina lume, but it works here and the lumed chapter ring is quite bright. I feel like the dial is missing a pop off color- if only the hands were blued steel or something in a bright blue color. As it is, I'll get a blue single-pass to add some of my favorite color to contrast with the bronze. The case back is also very nice, with a sand-cast texture and an embossed swordfish logo that is much cooler than a sapphire case back showing the pedestrian NH38, which by the way seems to be at about +10 s/day so far. The strap is nice, thinner rubber which makes it more comfortable with a matching bronze buckle. The 38 mm case size fits very well, even on my larger 7.8 inch wrist.

This watch checked three boxes for my collection: my first bronze case, first Zelos, and first meteorite dial. I've been wearing it non-stop, and it may be my imagination but the bronze is already a slightly darker color. This is a traditional copper-tin bronze, so should develop a nice reddish patina.

I really like bronze as a material, and love the idea of it developing a patina as I wear it. I was looking at some pricier options, namely the CW Dune Bronze or Oris Big Crown Pointer Date in bronze, but decided to go with the Zelos as it checks more boxes for my collection and costs less than 1/3 of the CW and a quarter of the Oris. I didn't know if I would have an allergic reaction, so didn't want to risk having to resell a pricier watch. So far, so good- no reaction at all.
