Scam the scammers?

Hello everyone, I have been getting many fake ass scam requests on e-mail and Instagram DM's claiming that they want a commission from me. most of these scams work by giving the victim a overpayment with an e-check, then they request the balance owing to be reimbursed to them. of course they pull the check back and you end up loosing money instead of making any.

My question for ya'll is: has anyone ever been successful at keeping the money that was sent without reimbursing the scammers and effectively keeping their money?

It would be such a sweet joys to scam these pricks for once.
