How similar is LoP to Sekiro?

Just platinum'd Lies of P yesterday, I was about ready to give up during my first playthrough around the second black rabbit fight but used Laxasia to really get a feel for (perfect)guarding and the game clicked big time after that. Did my second playthrough without any specters and it felt great truly having a feel for the game. I've played ER, DS1 and DS3 and I definitely notice the reliance on perfect guarding in this game compared to those other games. I know Sekiro is pretty big on parrying but I've also heard it's harder than Lies of P as well. Is Sekiro worth it? How does it differ from LoP?
