Is there a place for short novels?

Is there a place for short novels (50-60k words)? I don't mean literally (but if you know any publishers feel free to drop them). I ask because almost all of the post I see on here say publishers won't look at anything under 75-80k words. Do you believe that there is a place for shorter novels?
