Bind a key to open currently selected file with specific application in dolphin

On windows I got so annoyed at the shitty image viewer I wrote my own and, because it was super jank, I used an AHK listener to watch for when I pressed the 'home' key to open whatever file I currently had selected with that custom viewer. (Yes, I know that is a horrendous system) While Linux doesn't have such a lack of good viewers (and in the past few years Imageglass has been made for windows as well) I do miss the ability to quickly open whatever file I have selected with a specific application, for instance tapping a hotkey to open the selected file in Gimp instead of Gwenview.

I've checked in Dolphin keybindings but not found anything to do this natively, so does anyone know the best way to go about getting this sort of functionality?
