Park District back to using super sticky snow removal / rock salt on the 606 - who is the redditor that solved this?
Hello!
Apologies if the formatting on the photos I uploaded is horrid but I was one of the dozens (!) of folks who decided to bike commute this morning despite the ice and my commute involves riding on the 606. It was also the first time the Park District (or maybe the fine contractors at Christy Weber Landscaping) salted the path and they used this awful white pebble stuff that got all up in my drive train / frame and is stuck to my clothes as well (photos attached to document the issue). I remember last winter they did the same thing for November/December and then someone made a post here and another redditor mentioned that they work for the Park District and would talk to someone and then a few days later the rock salt switched to something much less sticky for the rest of the season.
Given that this is the first snowfall of the season, I thought I'd see if that Park District employee is still lurking here and is willing to talk to the right people again. I tried using the search function but could not find the thread. If you think I did a bad job of searching, provide a link and/or page the right redditor!
Thanks in advance!
