2 Failing classes

I am freshmen and currently failing math140 and cmsc131. I have different problems with each of those classes and decided to switch major to imd ba. However, I cannot withdraw even one of my current failing classes because I won't have 12 credits (those classes are 3 and 4 credits classes). I have no choice to finish those classes with a failing grade but will this affect me academically for the rest of my years in UMD?
