"Who should mediate the current conflict, if not the US?"

At 1:26 in this clip, , Destiny asks asks the rhetorical question of who could even mediate the current conflict, if not the US. Imo, an effective mediator here would need to be seen as credible by not just the Palestinians and Israelis, but Iran, Saudi Arabia, and other players in the region. China beats the US on this easily, and it's not even close.

#Sino-Israeli relations

With massive investments into Israel's tech sector and infrastructure, and $18.2 billion in trade between the two countries, China is Israel's largest trading partner in Asia. Most of what I'd read suggested they'd cooperate even more on defense and other issues if it weren't for pressure from the US. Now I've seen stuff about neutral statements from China on the current conflict and the history of their votes at the UN, so they're probably not taking the US's bestie spot. But of course being a credible mediator here isn't just about these ties alone.

#Sino-Palestinian relations

Not nearly as much economic cooperation here. However they seem to side with Palestine on basically every UN vote, and vice versa with the Palestinian Authority (PA) backing China on the Xinjiang issue.. On top of that, they've consistently pushed for an end to the Gaza blockade. , and signed a strategic partnership (whatever that means) with the Palestinian Authority.

#Basically everyone else

Yes it goes even further, they've got strong economic and political ties to basically every key player in the region. Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf states, hell they even got a rapprochement between Iran and Saudi Arabia started a few months back.. From my uninformed viewpoint, it seems like for one reason or another that the US can't help but bumble into creating clusterfucks all over the region, while China (at least until now) has basically done the opposite and pushed for trade and peace. Glazing hard I guess, but I'd be interested if you guys have any pushback and other thoughts.

Tl;dr: America needs to sit this one out and make way for China to step in, insert Chinese overlords copypasta etc.
